Research

I specialize in Early Modern philosophy specifically working on Rene Descartes and his contemporary Louis de la Forge. In studying the standard cannon of early modern philosophy, I employ digital humanities into my research to both enhance my research and to bring a different perspective. Furthermore, I compare and contrast the early modern ideas to that of Arabic philosophers like Al Farabi, Averroes, Al Ghazali and Avicenna. I have written on La Forge and his position on the Cartesian union thesis, problem of interaction and his natural philosophy.
